Therapy for adults who are ready to reconnect with themselves

Life. Is. Stressful. You’ve seen the meme: there is usually a picture of a frazzled-looking person accompanied by a string of words, such as “me trying to excel in my job and maintain a social life and be a present parent and drink enough water and pay my bills and stay sane and…”. There’s a reason why that meme is so popular: it is HARD being a person in today’s world. And, it can be easy to lose yourself while you’re trying to stay on top of everything else.

Therapy is self-care. A time for you to just focus on your needs with a therapist who truly sees and understands you. At Rachel Gunn Counseling, I help people who feel overwhelmed and disconnected come back to themselves. I work with motivated adults who are dealing with anxiety, OCD, pregnancy/postpartum, and challenging life transitions find more peace and develop the confidence to manage their stressors. Together, we’ll develop strategies that actually work in your daily life and process through the events that brought you here.

I show up as my authentic self to each session because I believe that trust builds and healing happens within the genuine connection of a therapeutic relationship. You will not find me keeping a straight face, maintaining a serious disposition, and offering up the occasional “mmhmm, and how does that make you feel?” I bring levity through humor and laughter when appropriate, because at the end of the day, we are people connecting with people.

I am an in-network provider with Aetna, Cigna, and United through Alma. However, I only offer a few insurance spots on my caseload. If you have insurance through another carrier and would like to use your out-of-network benefits, I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance company to receive reimbursements. Mentaya simplifies this process by checking your out-of-network mental health benefits and submitting these claims to get you up to 80% back on your therapy fees.
